  Damn you, Intel!
Posted by: xxlariusxx - 05-01-2016, 08:21 AM - Forum: ConsoleOS Rip-Off Open Forum - Replies (3)

With the news of Intel discontinuing some of its chip, "defiantly open" Christopher Price has released an "update" (giving an opinion counts as an update now, I guess) and in it, he reveals:

"We wanted to build the first quad-carrier, tri-SIM Broxton Android superphone. Now, we can’t."

Curse you, Intel! Once again, you screw Chris over and deny us his greatness and vision!

So as recently as two days ago, Price was still insisting that he has a team of engineers, and it's not just him. But apparently, even though he's basically said that Console OS is on hold until Android N, none of these engineers have time to provide support in his own forms. I guess they're so busy going through Remix OS' code, that he had to make Robert a moderator to do his work for him. Robert is obviously a talented kid, but it's been a while since I saw someone so smart but this blind at the same time.

"Over 99.9% of backers, literally, have been supportive" - Mobile Media Ventures, Inc, 18 Apr 2016

That's interesting. With some quick analysis of the backer comments I was able to find more than 1% of all backers (more than 10% of backers who have commented) who seem to want a refund.

  Meet Un-Backer number 14 | Refund acquired
Posted by: CONstoleos - 04-06-2016, 07:59 PM - Forum: ConsoleOS Rip-Off Open Forum - Replies (9)

Hello there, Friends.

I'd like to say Thank You to the creator of this forum and all the active members.

You helped inspire me to persist, and achieve a level of un-backer (I got a refund today)!

More importantly, though - seeing that many of you were able to at least get him to refund you, motivated me to keep at it.  Not because I wanted the money back, but because - maybe - just maybe - this experience will deter a particular individual from scamming others.

Thank you very much for putting this place together, contributing useful things, and helping backers see that we don't have to stand for being ripped off.

I will continue to do what I can to help stop this guy... including a donation to a legal fund as has been discussed here.

Thanks again .

Happy Un-Backing

Question Simplex Wall Dump
Posted by: BackerX - 03-20-2016, 12:10 AM - Forum: ConsoleOS Rip-Off Open Forum - No Replies

***Edit - Looks like there is a text limit.  Probably for good reason. (Derp.. urr database record size).  I'll attach the html and have another stab at it tomorrow.***

I came across a link on Kickstarter that aggregates a user's comments.  So, here is the "our Comment Wall", from the Christopher Price/Mobile Media Ventures Inc. perspective.  And a sprinkling of comments they/he/it made on other projects.

Not sure what I'll do with with this post.  Probably break it up and move it into Documentation.   It's kind of sick to read this now, knowing what we now know.

https://www.kickstarter.com/profile/mmv/comments

Mobile Media Ventures, Inc. Creator! Wrote:@Jason - This is completely incorrect. We encourage everyone, including you, to re-read our past four updates. We have said we are completely committed to Console OS. You can read our change log on GitHub, right now. We have backported hundreds of commits and changes to shore up our Lollipop builds, making sure they are the best out there. We can't bring back Android-IA for PC. That change which happened in January 2015 did set us back. But we are continuing to work with partners, including Intel, to take the best from Android-IA and integrate it atop our fork Android-x86. Please stop repeatedly asking for a refund. It is a Community Guidelines violation to endlessly pester us. Thanks.

Mar 18 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Jason - If you do not want us to respond, do not post here. Console OS is up for download, and live on GitHub. Contrary to your claims, anyone that runs it versus other alternatives can see the differences right away... Literally from the point of unpacking. We are not misrepresenting the rules here - Kickstarter has stood with us in enforcing Community Guidelines, and we have bent over backwards to dialogue with you in a respectful manner.

Mar 18 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Cimakan - We're sorry you feel that way, but we are excited and determined to continue developing Console OS!

Mar 18 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Jason - Please stop spamming the same posts. You have made your opinion clear, we have given you in depth challenges and responses several times now. If you continue to do so, your ability to post will be limited. Thanks. @Lynne - We'll send you a message. Anyone else that has moved will have a chance to change their address.

Mar 18 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Cimakam - We're excited to be resuming shipment of Console OS. You backed us agreeing to stated risks, which we have mitigated. We are not refunding people.

Mar 17 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Ruthaniel - We didn't like the version that we wrote. Becuase it's a reboot of the project, the "release notes" are not possible to compare to the Android-IA for PC kernel. Our focus right now is on the known issues and updating the per device pages. This happens as time permits, we have to balance our time with work that will generate revenue, as we outlined in depth in our last update.

Mar 16 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Jason - We have provided full change logs on GitHub and in the past. Please stop posting the same link at the end of each comment. It is a community guidelines violation.

Mar 16 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Jason - We only stated that a small percentage of backers, a fraction of a single percent, were being trolls. Kickstarter agrees, as they sanctioned most of them for repeated Community Guidelines violations before ultimately being dropped.

Mar 15 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Jason - We said during the Kickstarter that we could only support Surface Pro devices properly if we hit the stretch goal of $125,000. We did not raise that stretch goal, unfortunately. As to the rest, asked and answered. We aren't going to dialogue with you further on these subjects as you persist in treating us with disrespect.

Mar 15 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Dave - We have given full attribution and are in full compliance with the GPL. Remix OS... Not so much.

Mar 15 2016 on #34: from the project Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Sahey - Not yet... but we're pretty darn close. Surface Covers should be working in Lollipop, but Wi-Fi still isn't. The reason for this is that we decided to backport Kernel 4.0 improvements, this makes Bay Trail devices like the T100TA and Compute Stick work very well... but the tradeoff was Surface Pro didn't quite make it. We had to stick to our Kickstarter commitments, and Surface Pro stretch goals weren't reached. On the bright side, Kernel 4.4/4.5 (technically 4.5 was released earlier today) is a lot more promising, and so the Marshmallow cycle should bring Surface Pro (3) support, finally.

Mar 14 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

Afternoon everyone, earlier today we posted Update #34: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mmv...ts/1507446

Mar 14 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Scott - Console OS being up for download is not a "promise about the future" - it's up for download. Perhaps you should ask the competitor you mentioned why they aren't open source too?

Mar 14 2016 on #34: from the project Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Ng - We can't speak for partners, sorry. We can understand why other companies may not want to step into such a contentious issue... ...but we are confident that any statements that our partners have made, or will make, will not dispute what we have said. Because, frankly, it's the truth - and, because we share updates with our partners routinely, before posting them publicly.

Mar 14 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Ng - We were prohibited by non disclosure agreements from sharing that information until Intel had solidified its future for Android-IA. We were again, informed of those final decisions in January, 2015.

Mar 12 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Jason - The only thing we were told three days after our Kickstarter had ended, was that Android-IA development for Core processors was temporarily suspended. You can read our updates in the Updates tab for a full timeline. We were not informed that Android-IA for PC was discontinued until January 2015. Much like the false claim you just made in regards to that point, the rest of your claims lack merit. We are hoping to post new updates over the weekend, and we remain committed to Console OS.

Mar 11 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Tim - It is unfortunate that Android-IA for PC, which we depended on, was discontinued shortly after we began releasing. Had our Kickstarter not happened, nobody would have even fought to keep those components alive... Components that we are still working to reintegrate into the Android-x86 kernel. These acts will benefit the whole Android on PC community. Even Remix OS, which is funding/supporting the venom from Android-x86.org, can fork our code. That is the goal of Kickstarter. People should not back a Kickstarter expecting more than a team that does their best to deliver. We have made Android on PC better, and we will continue to. We think - and have privately received - massive support from most backer that get that their $10 on average is going to that goal, and the people that write in to us have one clear message; keep going. To those people, we thank you. Now as to Console OS, we remain committed to it. But OEMs simply are not willing to embrace it until they see what Google is going to do to the landscape, later this year. As such, we will keep building Console OS - while announcing some new products in the near future.

Mar 10 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Jason - You've made your opinion clear, we've gone in depth to dispute it. Please stop endlessly reposting, it accomplishes nothing, and is a Community Guidelines violation.

Mar 10 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Jason - We have answered each topic you have raised in-depth already. We disagree. We are not going to refund you, we intend to continue developing Console OS despite encountering the stated risks, and mitigating them. We welcome productive alternatives, but we have spent your funds on building Console OS, it's live for Kickstarter backers to download in Lollipop, and we're already staging Marshmallow for GitHub. So once again, no, we aren't going to refund you.

Mar 10 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

Hello all, as you may have noticed, Android N was officially announced for the first time today. As we've noted several times in the past, Google doesn't share the Android roadmap with us. Companies we work with may be aware of it, but even they aren't allowed to talk to us about it. Some features we knew would be there, like multi-window support. Others were a surprise. We are battle testing the Android N developer preview releases, but please keep in mind that Google has not issued source code for these releases. As such, we may know what is coming with Android N, but our best efforts will be focused on Marshmallow for the time being.

Mar 9 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Jason - You backed a Kickstarter, you did not purchase an existing product. We made clear in our Risks statement and in our what-to-expect disclosures that Console OS was not finished, and was in active development. Unfortunately, Intel decided to discontinue key components after a point at which we could not refund people completely. We set a new path forward, consistent with the terms of the mid-2014 Kickstarter TOS. We're proud to still be working with our partners like Intel on that new path forward. But again, we are not going to refund you.

Mar 9 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

We apologize for some of the delays over the past week in getting updates out. We're juggling a patch release to v0.4.96 that will at least add a couple of features. One of those features is draining considerable time right now in completing. At the same time we are handling a couple of other tasks involving a future product. Considering that Google has inferred that Android is headed to PCs, we have to focus on other products simultaneously to keep Console viable. We hope to be current with everything at some point this week, but realistically, normal operations may not get back on track until this weekend.

Mar 8 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Jason - We are back in the office after having to take some unrelated leaves last week. We have an update on Console OS drafted that will give more insight onto our roadmap. As we said in a past update, we merged Standard and Pro versions of Console OS into one build. That build is available for you to download at http://account.console.com.co - exclusively for Kickstarter backers currently. The mid-2014 Kickstarter TOS, and our risk statements, allow us to do this in reaction to a stated risk. That risk is the loss of Android-IA for PC, which at the time was part of the Android Open Source Project. We reacted to that risk by merging Console OS Standard and Pro, and going open-source on GitHub. Your money has been spent on the project. We only refunded 14 people as part of a joint resolution with Kickstarter that avoided costly legal action. We aren't going to refund you, instead, we're going to keep delivering.

Mar 7 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Paul - As we have said, no Kickstarter funds will be used for Console Developer Rewards. Our goal is for all rewards to come from the industry. We simply are willing to put more effort into that, than to paying a bribe to a disgraced developer... one others in the industry seem quite willing to buy off, unfortunately.

Mar 7 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Paul - We don't have anything new to share on the subject. We stand by every word in our reply: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mmv...ts/1453171 We would rather donate $50,000 with the industry, via Console Developer Rewards (which we're in the process of rolling out), than pay highway robbery. We didn't kill Android-IA for PC, and forking Android-x86 kept our project alive. We stand by the call, we're proud of it, and we aren't going to refund you.

Mar 6 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Gerald - We have posted pages of answers to questions in the past week. We expect normal operations to resume early next week when the team gets off the simultaneous and unexpected travel and leave. We are not obligated to re-re-answer questions persistently. Contrary to the belief of some, Kickstarter does not obligate us to answer any questions here... we spend hours each week doing so, because we think it's the right thing to do. We have limited resources and tackle as many questions as we can on a regular basis.

Mar 5 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Ruthaniel. The GitHub logs that others have gone through clearly dispute that. Unfortunately our CEO had to go on emergency family medical leave, the same week others on the team are on travel. We're a small team and we regret the delays.

Mar 3 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@WANG - Our focus has been on using Intel's more advanced GPU drivers that are more difficult to integrate. We are still using Mesa because of a known issue there. Our Mesa is 11.2 at the moment and there's a bug with our K4.0 blocking DV8P and a few other BYT-T systems. In short, we know. We are working on fixing it.

Mar 3 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Ng - It's a worthy question. Unfortunately, we can't give you excellent answers. There are several unknown factors. First, Google builds Chrome OS out in the open. They do not with Android. Google freezes everyone out of what the next version of Android will have. We hit that problem with Lollipop. Intel couldn't tell us that major components we relied on, would be pulled from Lollipop, until after Google made it available. So, we have no idea what Android N will have, beyond what Google has insinuated. Hence, we have no idea yet what it will take to get into Android N. In general, and this is very general, we usually hit our stride with an Android version once its first maintenance release ships (MR1). For Lollipop that was Android 5.1. For Marshmallow, Google deemed 6.0.1 as the MR1 release. Why? Hard to say. 6.0.1 was less major than 5.1. But, we do have Marshmallow up and running. The good news is that Marshmallow is far less revolutionary than Lollipop. In many ways, it's much more like Windows 7 vs Vista, than Windows 7 vs Windows 8. What we're doing with Lollipop today, is carrying over to Marshmallow. You asked "when" - and now you know why it's hard for us to answer that totally. It would not be hard to fathom Marshmallow builds for Kickstarter backers some time in April. We have to shore up Lollipop and ship a truly public release. Finally, we have another product in the pipeline as well - one that will hopefully actually make us some money. We haven't shared it with very many people, but it has been our most rapid prototyping of anything we've done to date. The people we've shared it with immediately have said we have to sell it. And no, we aren't planning on crowdfunding it. Finally, on OEMs. Let's be clear. The moment Google said they were merging Chrome and Android - the OEMs pretty much were told to wait for Google. We seriously doubt OEMs are going to ship any Android-on-PC solution until Google leads there. Our hope, is that the Chromium team carries over the developmental tenants of Chrome OS - building new versions out in the open, rather than in a closed-release state, so that we can all contribute, stabilize, and differentiate into our own niches that better the Android ecosystem.

Mar 3 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Sravan - We just don't see it that way. By not breaking Android APIs, we can get to Marshmallow faster, and be on a level playing field with where the OEMs are wanting us to be. It will also give us comparative advantage. We appreciate the feedback, but we feel that sticking with Marshmallow's multitasking APIs and multi-app support is a better path, and will make it easier to implement our original vision. It may be a rougher road initially, but we stand by the call.

Mar 2 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

Trần - You can download Console OS Lollipop right now at https://account.console.com.co/ We are not refunding, sorry. Our focus is on continuing to develop Console OS.

Mar 2 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Sravan - There's no question that Jide has been "supporting" Android-x86 for awhile now, and we intend to pursue the appearances of impropriety there more aggressively. We'll say this: We didn't pay Android-x86's shakedown demands. We can't say the same about other projects with any level of certainty. We may have paid a social media cost for that, but we don't regret it. As to Console OS today, there's no question starting from scratch delayed us. We're now an open-source project. We're focused on making pure Android great on the PC. We aren't deterred by that, at all. @WANG - We know, but not all BayTrail-T graphics integrations are alike. There are considerable Video BIOS differences and other errata. This is why Console OS works great on the T100 today, but has issues on the Dell Venue 8 Pro, ones we and Intel are still working to resolve.

Mar 2 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

Hi all, we apologize for the delay in posting the second update. Launching Console Developer Rewards has taken more time than we thought it would. We still expect to get the first cycle going later today, but the release notes and Wiki updates are going to have to wait until that's done. We are really excited about Console Developer Rewards - we think it will be a force for good in the Android ecosystem. We've already fielded several questions from interested developers.

Mar 2 2016 on #33: from the project Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

We addressed most of these topics as they were cross posted on the comment wall. The notion that we over promised is mitigated by the undeniable fact that Intel aborted components we depended on. We regret that, but we noted as a risk that we depended on Android and that it may change. At the time these Android-IA components were a joint effort and part of the AOSP umbrella. We are hardly "going down with the ship" and a few people work on Console OS regularly. With Lollipop we have the easiest to deploy Android on PC distribution to date. We're proud of it.

Mar 2 2016 on #33: from the project Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

Correction: Miix 2 8. The original Miix uses Clover Trail which we cannot support unfortunately, due to its PowerVR GPU.

Mar 2 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Wang - The teammate that has our Miix 8 just let us know that he's traveling this week abroad and will test next week.

Mar 2 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Wang - We will check with the teammate that has one and update shortly. If you can copy Console OS Express to a flash drive, you can check yourself - we got the install down to copying a few files to a flash drive, disabling secure boot, and booting from the flash drive.

Mar 2 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Jason - We know people who read the comment wall daily might not see it as new news, but much as Windows 10 has a fast and slow ring, we've been using our comment wall similarly. v0.4.96 has tested well with you constantly-reloading, comment followers, we said in our update earlier today that we would roll out support and release notes for that release to everyone late today. We also promised we would unveil details for Console Developer Rewards - which is not a talent project focused on us, but on giving back to our upstream projects - by the end of February... which is what we did late yesterday. As we said a few updates ago, we have merged Console OS Standard and Pro into one release for now. This was necessary to keep the project alive, and permitted under the mid-2014 Kickstarter TOS. We will provide more details on what to expect on the roadmap, in our next update, due out tonight. In short, we're juggling a lot right now.

Mar 1 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Gearld - We're here to clear up those misconceptions. We licensed technology from Intel, that unfortunately mid-way through our development... they stopped building. We then forked an open-source project to replace those components, and are working with Intel to bring the last-mile drivers needed to support Dell Venue 8 Pro properly back. This all takes time and cost money, so we can't refund you. You can read our updates that go much more in-depth on this here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mmv...ts/1453171 And also here for specifics on the DV8P issue: http://wiki.console.com.co/w/Source_Code...iver_Issue @xconwayx - Yes! https://account.console.com.co/ - But more details will be released in our next update. @Matt - See links above where we addressed this controversey in-depth: @graphidz - We aren't refunding backers. We worked with Kickstarter to drop a little over a dozen backers who were draining both companies resources, and accounted for over half the nearly 4,000 comments on our wall. As a courtesy, we made a one-time exception and refunded those people, who we feel were trolling us - at the detriment of other backers.

Mar 1 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Marco - Console OS is a software product. And you can download it, right now at http://account.console.com.co/ We regret that we're English-only, but we only committed to that from the outset. Physical perks should be discussed in the next update for those waiting for Backer Plus update. We are working to get those couple hundred or so items shipped.

Feb 29 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

Update #33 is live: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mmv...ts/1505967 Update #34 should roll out some time tomorrow. It will include release notes and more details about Lollipop that will make it easier for backer to get acquainted. This will be alongside Wiki updates over the next week ahead of general availability.

Feb 29 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Sravan - We promised to post all the details for Console Developer Rewards by month's end, and we're going to get that rolling before midnight. We held an all-hands series of meetings over the past 24 hours, on something unrelated (but very cool). Once we get some rest, the Lollipop documentation is next up. When we say advanced, we mean it. Our goal over the Lollipop cycle is to replace the Advanced install path completely... it's just not meant for the average person, so documentation on that route may be sparse, at least at first. On the plus side, it will augment the Android-x86 community with more/better documentation, much as our Build Instructions and guides do on the Wiki already (those are going to get a few updates based on similar feedback we've gotten over the past week from Viewers Like You™ too).

Feb 29 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

To be clear, we intend to continue building out Lollipop and working to resolve these issues. Marshmallow is months off from being stable enough to ship beyond alpha testing.

Feb 29 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Keith - Sorry, you can download our Lollipop release right now at http://account.console.com.co/ and we're already at work on Marshmallow.

Feb 29 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

Well, we fixed the server issues, and updated the account software with a patch from our vendor... ... unfortunately, it didn't fix the password reset bug. So, what we've done is deployed an SSL certificate. This is only supposed to take a few hours to verify and activate, and it will make sure the password reset system work properly. Plus, our account system will then be secure end-to-end. In our testing, password reset is now working on https://account.console.com.co/ (Note the https). For the next few hours, you may get a certificate error. This is because the Let's Encrypt system has to co-sign the certificate. So, we won't send any updates out until tomorrow to be extra-extra sure. We're using the Let's Encrypt certificate for the first time, and we are excited to begin deploying it to all Console sites, and making https the default going forward! P.S. If you are using an old web browser, time to update. IE7 and earlier will have issues with Let's Encrypt. Chrome still works with Windows XP (for now), and Console OS fully supports Let's Encrypt domain names.

Feb 28 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

Hi all, we got a new IP from our host. It's propagating the DNS zone file right now, may take 2-3 hours to roll out... hopefully should fix things. We are not skipping a beat, and have moved over to rolling out Console Developer Rewards, as promised this month, late today.

Feb 28 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

Hi everyone, quick update. We have a patch that should (emphasis, should) fix the password reset bug. Unfortunately, our host provider moved us to a new server (we suspect, to keep up with the demand - now that we're shipping Lollipop). Well, as our Murphy's Law would have it, that move broke the SSH salts. We've opened a support ticket - we've hit a wall at this hour otherwise. It's particularly frustrating because we're really confident we can fix this bug, but our server won't let us in to fix it. We'll keep you updated as we go, as usual.

Feb 27 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

We're updating our account software right now. Don't panic if it goes offline for the next few hours, thanks!

Feb 27 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@ Steve Clark: Wow, couldn't be more wrong. As some clearly disagree below - we are excited to be shipping Lollipop and we're already working on Marshmallow.

Feb 27 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

This is simply not true, don't feed the trolls folks. We've posted at-length on how we are differentiating already.

Feb 26 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

We are not going to engage with the false claims of the user below. Kickstarter has said they will remove him/her shortly. We apologize to backers for the repeated delays, Kickstarter has not explained to us why it takes over a week to purge an inflammatory backer in cases like these.

Feb 26 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

That is just not true, we have taken actions to ban the user below. Unfortunately it has taken Kickstarter over a week to process those actions, and we discourage people from listening to him/her.

Feb 26 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Arul - We have opened a new ticket and sent you a link to it. Again, please stop spamming our wall with your isolated issue.

Feb 26 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Arul - We have sent you an email, please stop spamming our wall with this issue. You have posted 9 comments about this in the past 24 hours alone. We cannot resolve this isolated issue on our comment wall, and have replied to every email from you.

Feb 26 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@xconwayx - Thanks for your support, it has indeed been a massive drain on our resources. We're putting the final touches on bypass-methods that will allow us to move on from Kickstarter's delayed enforcement.

Feb 26 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Arul - Please stop spamming our wall. We have sent a request to Kickstarter to address your isolated, specific issue. That ticket originated 7 days ago. It is still open. We have given you the latest status on it. Please leave us alone until there is an update - which we will forward to you.

Feb 26 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Laurens - Sorry about that bug, and for the spam below. Please just change the URL from https:// to http:// We're a bit backlogged at the moment but that fix should go up shortly.

Feb 26 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Jason - Please stop spamming our wall with the same attack. We had to start over after Android-IA for PC was discontinued. It wasn't our call, and we're proud to have stayed here - built a new path forward - which we are now shipping to backers at http://account.console.com.co/

Feb 26 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@kisamesama - We hear you. A campaign update has been drafted, going around the team for review. Probably will run early AM. We are working on shifting more to the forum for Kickstarter support... more work to do there.

Feb 25 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Jason - You have made your opinion clear - several times now. We disagree. Please stop repeating it. It's harassment to endlessly reply, and it will just get you blocked.

Feb 25 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Jason - Please stop linking to the same site. It is a Community Guideline violation to post the same link persistently in most of your posts. Kickstarter does consider this spam, and if you continue to do so, your ability to post on our wall will be limited. The site linked below lacks merit, and we are taking legal action against it. We won't discuss it further.

Feb 25 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Jason - No.

Feb 25 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

Kickstarter reviews all backer bans and ensures they were processed properly. We have not changed from our original position - we are only banning around a dozen backers that (including our replies) now account for well over 50% of our comment wall.

Feb 25 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@arul - We have sent you another email. Please stop hammering this comment wall, it accomplishes nothing other than taking up our time. We are sorry that we have chosen to remove you, but occupying our time on a constant basis was the reason for our decision... and these replies underscore that.

Feb 25 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@arul - We are only going to communicate with you on your specific account issue by email going forward. Nothing has changed since our last reply, below.

Feb 25 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@arul - We will contact you by email as soon as they do. Kickstarter told us they are having issues fixing some accounts. We're not too happy with that answer, but there's nothing we can do but wait. Physical perks will be addressed in our next update, which we're hoping to ship after our (hopefully final) forum patch later today.

Feb 25 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Tommy - We have addressed each of those claims repeatedly. They lack merit. Others can read the updates in the Updates tab. We have begun legal action against the site in question. We aren't going to waste our time rehashing. Backers can download Console OS at account.console.com.co right now.

Feb 25 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Tommy - We are not going to refund you, we are sorry that you feel that way however.

Feb 25 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

Thanks for reporting. To the former, we have a simple workaround and hope to post tomorrow. To the latter, stay tuned. Please discuss technicals on forums.console.com.co so the answers can be shared and built on. Here they just get buried into oblivion.

Feb 25 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

Hi all, quick update. We are jumbling our schedule a bit. The forum anti spam controls we put in flopped... Miserably. Tomorrow we'll try another option. Campaign update should roll out after that. We don't want to kill a fly with a sledgehammer, but forum spam is just as onerous as Kickstarter spam. We hope to have a good balance there tomorrow.

Feb 25 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@arul - Kickstarter staff is working to fix your specific isolated issue. We are not issuing refunds at this time beyond what we agreed with Kickstarter that only impacted around a dozen backers. Please see the email we sent you for the latest status.

Feb 25 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

We are not refunding people that ask for a refund. We have only refunded around a dozen people who have been an extreme burden on this project, and with our replies, account for half our comment wall... and we did so as a one-time courtesy - specifically so we could focus on our Lollipop release free from distraction.

Feb 24 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

While we're providing general technical support on http://forums.console.com.co/ - We do want to chime in on the Wi-Fi issue. If you are having Wi-Fi issues with the 64-bit build of Console OS, please try the 32-bit build. For various reasons, the 32-bit builds of Console OS are better with Wi-Fi on many devices. We're working on improving this in future versions. If the 32-bit build does not resolve it, post in the forums. We want to collect this information to better target the devices that need the most attention. Thanks!

Feb 24 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

We are only doing backer support here. Open a thread on forums.console.com.co for support topics. We're happy to help there, and your feedback there will help us improve Console OS. Console OS Express was specifically built to allow you to test on devices, and provide that feedback without modifying anything on your PC.

Feb 24 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Jason - We worked hard with kernel porting to provide the best Wi-Fi support of any Android on PC distribution out there. We support Realtek, Broadcom, and Intel Wi-Fi with some Qualcomm Atheros support as well. Please stop spamming the same link with each post. We will ask Kickstarter to limit your ability to post here, if you continue doing so. It is a Community Guidelines violation.

Feb 24 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

We're sorry you're having issues Mat, but we need more info to help. Please start a thread at forums.console.com.co so we can look into the issue with you're NUC, and help others at the same time.

Feb 24 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

We are working on updating Wiki and other support content. It's a complete project reboot for us, but we hope to get the first wave up very shortly. On a development note, some of our Mesa back porting has gotten the HP Stream 7 to boot. However there are still some nagging kernel timing issues that are making it not quite usable yet.

Feb 24 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

Please don't feed the trolls folks, thanks. We are working on fixing the bug, we did not cast blame on it. Frankly, we don't know who caused the password reset bug. We're working on fixing it.

Feb 24 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Lee - Yes, we've been testing an SSL cert and that wasn't supposed to go live. For most functions, it wasn't impacted. It's a bug related to how the password reset link is formed. Thanks for the feedback though!

Feb 24 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Jason - You can log in to http://account.console.com.co and download Console OS Lollipop right now. The Kickstarter was to make Console OS happen, and we are continuing to deliver on that commitment. We will not refund you.

Feb 24 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Jason - We made the decision to combine the two editions of Console OS temporarily, to keep the project alive. We are not refunding people. We stated that this was the first OS Kickstarter, ever, and that the feature set may have to change. It did. We are not refunding people because of that, and we will not. We would encourage those filing complaints, to review the Mid-2014 Kickstarter TOS, which allows us to take these actions.

Feb 24 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

Hi all, we are looking into the password reset issue. The bandwidth issues we reported last night should be resolved this hour. And with that, we're getting back to work on fixing the password reset problem.

Feb 24 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

Hi all, evening wrap (we do sleep... somewhat). We have a small bandwidth issue. We are testing Mega as our CDN, and we bought several terabytes worth of bandwidth. Unfortunately, it's not showing up on our account... we've opened a ticket (yes, a new day, a new support ticket). The good news is that the downloads haven't been frozen out. But, we're a bit hesitant to send out a Kickstarter update, that could overload things until our accounts refresh. Our current plan is to let the folks in UK/NZ update things on their end, and hopefully we can push out the update to everyone else. Please do keep posting a comment (sans any identifiable info) if you cannot log in to account.console.com.co and download Lollipop. We'll pick up with those tickets first thing tomorrow. Thanks everyone - this release is not about delivering our full vision. It's about getting back on track - with the easiest-to-install distribution of Android on PC today. We think we've done that today. We think this was a good day.

Feb 23 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Shiv - We checked your account. The email you have with Kickstarter is set up with backer benefits locked in. Double check that you are logging in with the Kickstarter email address in your Kickstarter profile for us. If that doesn't solve it, reply back.

Feb 23 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

Please post a comment if your account says you have a Standard account. Right here. What we'll do is check those accounts in our backend, and fix them manually. Most backers that log in to account.console.com.co should have Kickstarter credentials - provided you are using the same email as your Kickstarter account.

Feb 23 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

We'll check your account later tonight. Most backers should have access.

Feb 23 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

Hi all, for those that cannot wait, we have posted the download files at http://account.console.com.co/ We are still doing testing and have not posted everything yet - but it seems some want access right-this-minute. As promised, if Kickstarter didn't act to clean up the comment wall as promised, we'd ship anyways. We're making good on that. Later tonight and tomorrow, we'll set up additional forums (just for you backers) where we can group Kickstarter-related answers. Then we'll send out an update for everyone signed up via email.

Feb 23 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Gary - We can subjectively chose to take the best options that we feel are in the interest of all backers. When someone is willing to spend significant portions of their life, demanding hourly replies from us - or posting incorrect information we are compelled to respond to - on our own comment wall, we have to act. That is our right under the Kickstarter TOS from mid-2014, and we stand by the call. All other backers are going to keep getting Console OS, hopefully later today too.

Feb 23 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

An update will be posted soon with details on downloading.

Feb 23 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@AC - See our replies below, we just addressed this request. We're excited to be shipping Lollipop, on the road to Marshmallow. Thanks.

Feb 23 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

There are a few people working on Console OS currently. Less than before, but still a few. We had to deal with the resources and bad hand we were dealt - particularly after losing Android-IA for PC - and after making a considerable investment in that platform. But we're not going to dive deeper into that topic. Members of our team requested anonymity after dealing with cyberbullies - including harassing phone calls and personal contact information being posted on other sites. We want to thank sites like XDA-Developers for working quickly to remove the illegal and harrassing efforts like that. We won't let the trolls win. We are referring to less than three-tenths of one percent of backers, that we call trolls. We understand that some people want refunds, and we've bent over backwards to explain why that is not possible - and what we're doing to make Console OS great.

Feb 23 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

We're sorry that you are not satisfied, ACH. We're excited to be taking the best parts of Android-IA and progressively integrating them into Console OS, on our new path forward. While the loss of Android-IA for PC was undeniable as a setback, it was part of the Android platform at the time. We would not have moved forward with the Kickstarter had we known it was in danger of being discontinued, but we are not making excuses... we're working to deliver!

Feb 23 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

Hi everyone, update on the what-if-Kickstarter-doesn't-fix the comment wall problem. Later today, a new forum will pop up for Kickstarter Backers at http://forums.console.com.co/ We'll use that in place of the comment wall, and distribute to Kickstarter backers via an update. We hope to get this all done today!

Feb 23 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Simon - Sorry but we stated as a risk that we cannot control upstream Android resources. Android-IA for PC was one of them. We don't have the resources to refund you. Intel has not disputed that they discontinued a project we depended on. Claims we have misled anyone, are false.

Feb 23 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

The problem will resolve itself shortly, but thanks for your feedback.

Feb 23 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

Kickstarter is taking additional steps to resolve comment spam, which interferes with our ability to communicate with backers. They updated us this morning and assured us that this is about to be resolved. We are happy to wait 24 hours or so to accommodate Kickstarter's delay. If they cannot complete that request in the timeframe, we will use an alternate means to serve up Console OS to you all.

Feb 23 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

We are working to deliver what we envisioned in our Kickstarter right now. Our first Lollipop release is on the file servers, just waiting on Kickstarter. Have a nice day!

Feb 23 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

Please just leave us alone. You want nothing other than to see us bankrupt, or options that would require Intel to resume development of Android-IA for PC, which they have said they have no plans to do. Repeating the same criticism, constantly, hourly, is why we are moving to ban you.

Feb 23 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Edgar - We are not refunding people. We chose to ban 13 backers that have caused a huge drain on our resources, and account for more than half our comment wall. We have said there will be a full feature roadmap update after we ship Lollipop. We said clearly as the first Kickstarter operating system, that feature set is subject to change... that is not grounds for a refund. We do expect the original vision of Console OS (Pro) to be implemented over the next few versions, based on our risk mitigation and new path forward.

Feb 23 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

Our focus is on shipping Console OS Lollipop. Discussion of what-ifs, had we taken other roads, is not productive in-depth. We expect to have some path to download later today, we just talked to Kickstarter this morning on these open issues. They are working to resolve it, and we're passing that along.

Feb 23 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

We're sorry that you feel that way, but again, it is without question that had Android-IA for PC not been discontinued (within a month of our ship date, which we shipped within), our work would not have been dramatically impacted like it was. We had legal clearance to quit at that point. This is a Kickstarter, not a suicide pact. We are choosing not to, and we will not be brought down by criticism for that choice.

Feb 23 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

Calling us "con men" is why we are in kind, calling you a troll. We have been open, respectful, and hard-working to keep Console OS going, in spite of stated risks impacting us. Console OS is now open source, we have been making regular contributions, and we're excited to be shipping this week. If you are "sick and tired" of this, simply go away. We'll keep calling out your disrespect. Thanks.

Feb 23 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

We disagree, respectfully. We are excited that Console OS Lollipop is uploaded and will be in the hands of backers shortly.

Feb 23 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

We won't engage in disrespectful dialogue. Our first Console OS Lollipop builds are on the server, ready to ship. If Kickstarter doesn't do their job, and reign in the trolls (pursuant to our update 12 hours ago) we will bypass the comment wall for good and ship anyways. That may mean we just auto-reply to each and every comment going forward, pointing people to another tool... but posts like the one below are part and parcel of why we may have to do that.

Feb 23 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

It doesn't matter if there is one backer posting hundreds of comments per day... the threat remains and if a 24 hour delay resolves that problem, we think that's the right call to make. We stand by the decision.

Feb 23 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Jeff - And we clearly followed that up with an explanation of what happened with Kickstarter, a situation that they still are past-due on resolving. We're giving people what most asked us to do - transparent updates in real-time. The downside of that, is sometimes, things change. You can't have it both ways.

Feb 23 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

Hi folks, we are listening. But to say we have left people "high and dry" is rather ridiculous. Anyone can build Console OS based off of GitHub today. What we will be shipping is a pre-packaged version of that code. We have said we will ship Console OS over the next day or so - even if Kickstarter doesn't do their part. And after that is done, we will continue improving on Console OS, both with weekly updates to you, and publicly live on GitHub as well. We had no idea when we started this project that Intel would abandon Android-IA on PC. We did however state that, as a risk, we might have to change the feature set. That happened. Despite that, we're still here, still making Console OS happen.

Feb 23 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

We cannot communicate with backers when one user posts hundreds of comments in brute-force fashion. We won't let the trolls win, even if we have to take another 24 hour setback. We outlined what we will do if Kickstarter fails to complete that process tomorrow, as well.

Feb 22 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

Hello all, It’s after 5 PM on the east coast (Kickstarter is based in New York, we’re out here in California). The good news: Kickstarter’s spam team has purged dozens of spam comments (from over the weekend) so far, and they’re still working to clean up the mess trolls made over the weekend. The bad news: We were informed the banhammer is controlled by a separate team, which still hasn’t closed out the ban process. The best answer we have gotten thus far, is a backlog of work. It’s disappointing, for us, and for some at Kickstarter too. The longer it takes for Kickstarter to purge the 13 backers that we have banned, the more spam that is built up by them… the more mess for us, and for Kickstarter. We have passed along suggestions to Kickstarter to improve some parts of their business - most notably, their support is not 24/7. As we have seen, trolls don’t quit on weekends, and they don’t work just business hours. Frankly, trolls are all too aware that Kickstarter only reigns in spam (both in posts and users) during work days. They’re aware that Mondays have a backlog, and we’re suffering from that at this hour. Our focus over the next 24 is going to be to continue packaging and documenting. As soon as Kickstarter does what we all paid them to do, and reign in the trolls, we’ll ship our first Lollipop builds. P.S. If Kickstarter fails to do their job tomorrow - we will start work on an alternate comment wall, and simply script up a blockade of our own. We don’t like to point fingers at companies we do business with, but Kickstarter is not doing what we (you backers, and us) paid them to do, which is manage the community in an efficient manner.

Feb 22 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

We expect our Lollipop builds to be available later today. We'll keep you posted.

Feb 22 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

Cross-posted from Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ConsoleInc/ Build 0.4.95 of Console OS Lollipop (new version scheme) is in the can at 395 MB. The Express installer will take about double the size (we're working on shrinking that). These builds should go live over the next 24 hours. Emphasis on should... we'll keep you updated. While you wait, please do two housekeeping tasks. 1) Update your BIOS (don't just rely on Windows Update - go to your PC (tablet) maker's web site and check it manually). And 2) Disable Secure Boot. Don't know how to do either? No sweat, we'll post more support on both topics shortly.

Feb 22 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

Good morning everyone. We again want to share that Kickstarter will resume normal operations in a few hours, and hopefully will process remaining support requests that we need them to finish tackling. Our first release of Console OS Lollipop clocks in a just under 400 MB for the Advanced Installer, and around 800 MB for the Express version. The file size difference is due to some compression and configuration differences - we are working on making the file size smaller in the future. We expect it to go live late Monday, but we really do need Kickstarter to address the issues that have plagued us this weekend. As soon as they do, we can ship these builds out - and move forward with Console OS!

Feb 22 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

We don't troll people. We don't post hundreds of duplicate comments. We're excited to ship Lollipop! And we thank our backers for standing with us.

Feb 22 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

We are not going to ship Lollipop while dealing with trolls like the folks below. Their posts are false, and we don't have the resources to constantly correct them. We're excited to ship Lollipop - just as soon as Kickstarter completes their removal on Monday.

Feb 22 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Andrew - This is not true. We are disappointed that AMD has not embraced Android on x86 devices... but lying about our interactions with AMD is not appropriate behavior.

Feb 22 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

We did choose to issue refunds to these 13 backers. The alternatives would have been more costly and time consuming to ban these backers. We are not going to share our dialogue with Kickstarter in public, but they did change and improve some of their process along the way.

We will keep users posted on Kicktarter's progress tomorrow. We expect everything to be ready to go for tomorrow!

Feb 21 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

We won't be brought down by people that suggest we should fail. Console OS can be run completely from a flash drive with our Lollipop release. We welcome constructive feedback

Feb 21 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

We just disagree, we have been posting regular updates and are literally hours away from shipping Lollipop to backers. We regret you are unhappy.

Feb 21 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

We disagree, but we're sorry you feel that way.

Feb 21 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

We have been advised not to engage in discussing individual backers actions by Kickstarter, we're focused on moving forward with shipping Lollipop tomorrow - sorry.

Feb 21 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

This is inaccurate, respecting privacy of all backers individually, we are not going to engage on that topic, sorry.

Feb 21 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

We disagree in that we cannot communicate properly when backers post hundreds of repeat comments, as has happened over this weekend. That is part and parcel of the backers that we chose to purge. We're sorry if you feel differently.

Feb 21 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

We're sorry you feel that way. We disagree.

Feb 21 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@RiceFryer - We have no plans to refund backers beyond what we have done in concert with Kickstarter, to purge 13 trolls that account for half our comment wall. We hope you enjoy Lollipop as we deliver it tomorrow. We are excited about our new release, thanks.

Feb 21 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

This is the kind of toxic behavior which is why we are purging a small group of backers. We will prevail over it, and we are excited to be shipping Console OS Lollipop, just as soon as Kickstarter acts tomorrow on these trolls.

Feb 21 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

That list is both offensive... And incorrect at least in part. We are not going to violate the privacy of individual backers. We encourage others to not indulge this behavior.

Feb 21 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@CS - No, we actually will need your help testing with the BayTrail version... ours kicked the bucket and we haven't had time to replace it yet. Please update yours to the latest BIOS and go to Dell.com and download all the (many) firmware updates for that troublesome device. Make sure it is totally up-to-date. We will take in the feedback and see if we need to capture another unit for further work. But we don't believe the DV8P video init bugs are related to DV11P issues.

Feb 21 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@arul - Kickstarter prefers if we refund backers before asking for an outright ban. We can wave this if we can demonstrate multiple Community Guideline violations, and they concur. Out of courtesy to backers we are choosing to remove, and to expedite the situation, we chose to refund 13 backers. Unfortunately, Kickstarter did not follow through in a timely manner. We expect this process to be completed on Monday. We certainly have complained in the past about Kickstarter breaking for weekends - leaving trolls to attack. They certainly have this weekend, dropping hundreds of troll/duplicate posts. That has caused us to reconsider how we engage with the comment wall in the future. But our focus right now, is on shipping Console OS.

Feb 21 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

(And to be clear, we've far from given up on Dell Venue 8 Pro - we will touch base with Intel on their commitments to patch the bugs blocking that device, later this week).

Feb 21 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

We have good news, some 11th hour efforts have netted something exciting... support for the Lenovo ThinkPad 8! Unfortunately these patching efforts did not get the Dell Venue 8 Pro working. We're racing (at 5:50 AM speeds) to get new builds on Amazon S3.

Feb 21 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Arul - We aren't going to freeze people out of the free distributions of Console OS. But if a backer is banned, by us or Kickstarter - they will lose nightly builds, Pro features as we add them, and early access. All of that starts to ramp up on Monday, and we're excited about it! We expect backers to be respectful, as we try to be with backers at all times.

Feb 21 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Ripton - Kickstarter can ban people who violate Community Guidelines, particularly if they have indicated an intent to do so. Spamming our wall, and saying you will do so, is intent. We don't want to ban backers. We hate it. We want to make Console OS work. But we cannot dialogue with backers in between spam. At the end of the day, we can shut down the comment wall with rapid-posting automation too... it's mutually assured destruction. The people who are being banned, have demonstrated to us that is their preferred outcome. It isn't ours.

Feb 21 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Jason - You paid to make Console OS happen. Well, it's happening. Monday we ship to backers. We still fully intend to implement our original vision, feature for feature. We have merged Console OS versions - and per the TOS in place at the time of the campaign... that's our right. It's also our right to change the feature set as needed, to keep the project going. We're sorry if you disagree, but continuously repeating your request, is not helping anyone.

Feb 21 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Ripton - Backers that spam will be banned without refund after this wave. We have met with Kickstarter and discussed this in-depth. Spamming will not be tolerated, by us or by Kickstarter. We are not going "in circles" as we have provided in-depth technical discussion to the people that asked for them.

Feb 21 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

We disagree, and have discussed these topics in-depth in the past. We're excited to be shipping Console OS on Monday, and we are focused on that.

Feb 21 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

We're excited to be shipping Console OS Lollipop, we ask that other backers ignore this topic. We do not condone the disclosure of backers that we removed. We respect people's privacy, and we will not participate.

Feb 21 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@arul - That's not possible, our understanding is one or two of them were permanently banned previously by Kickstarter staff - for repeated/chronic Community Guideline violations. Again, we gave refunds as a courtesy and to expedite the process.

Feb 21 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

The posted below has been informed they will be removed on Monday. We certainly regret that some backers have to be banned, but we cannot continue to tolerate their false statements and attempts at stonewalling through falsehoods. We ask other backers to ignore their hate, and we regret Kickstarter didn't complete the process on Friday.

Feb 21 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@arul - So it is possible the other backers account for half the comment wall, including our many (time consuming) replies to their, at times, intentionally-inflammatory questions. Please, don't make false statements based on partial information... again.

Feb 21 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Arul - We are not going to publish a list of backers being removed, for privacy concerns. There is no way you could tally them without that information to begin with. We said that we included our replies in that consideration, but regardless... we have nothing more to add. We made the decision in consultation with Kickstarter, as we said, so that we could focus on backers that want Console OS and want support for it.

Feb 21 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Arul - We have a lot more to do. As you can tell, people want us to implement more features. We still have more documentation to write. And we have to work on Marshmallow. So no, we aren't stopping work to rehash the past. We're going to keep working, and after we ship Lollipop publicly, keep growing.

Feb 20 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Arul - Same answer. Everyone is going to want more and more data to answer their nuanced question. It isn't productive, it doesn't change our development path, and we aren't required to. We have to focus on building Console OS, not rehashing the past. That's how we are getting back on track in the wake of losing Android-IA for PC.

Feb 20 2016 on Console OS: Dual-Boot Android, Remastered for The PC

@Arul - Sorry, no. We have enough funds reserved to ship remaining physical perks, but we made the decision not to engage in this topic, as everyone then has one-more-question. We'd spend all day answering that, and not building. We had to draw a line somewhere.

When I see comments like this:

"Jeez the comment section is so hostile anymore. Thanks for the update. I do have a remix device, but I love what competition can do for a market. I look forward to seeing what you guys can do going forward."

...and I see Robert still liking Price's post and contributing, it angers me a little that people are so willing to ignore the evidence and continue to be okay with being lied to. In this case, it completely dismisses all the work that has been done here for the benefit of everyone who backed, not just the "13." Despite having his name dragged through the mud, Price has suffered no real consequence for his deceit, and because of these attitudes, will undoubtedly just try again. I will say, though, that anyone who goes forward with him from this point deserves to have their money lost.
